Ist Appointment - What Happens ?

When you visit Jackie for the first time you will be allocated one hour. A full case history will be taken, including what you have come to see her about but also a medical history to ensure that it is safe to treat you. Please bring a note of any medication that you take, including herbal & aromotherapy.

You will then be given an examination. You will often be asked to remove your upper clothing down to your underwear and to perform a simple series of movements. A curtain is available for you to undress & dress behind. You will be covered with a towel most of the time, with just the area to be examined and treated available for Jackie to examine and treat. Due to current Covid-19 Procedures I cannot provide a towel to cover you, however, you are welcome to bring along your own towel.

If you do not wish to undress to your underwear then please let Jackie know and/or bring along a pair of shorts, thick tights, loose trousers or leggings.
Jackie will then use a highly developed sense of touch, called palpation, to identify any points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body.

You have the right to refuse any particular examination or treatment.

You can bring along a family member to accompany you in the treatment room. You are encouraged to ask questions at any stage.

Occassionally, Jackie may need additional investigations such as x-ray or blood tests. This will allow a full diagnosis and suitable treatment plan to be developed for you.

Sorry but the treatment room is on the first floor with no lift.
